MIFAB® Series MI-XHUB heavy duty shielded no hub couplings are manufactured with gaskets made from neoprene compound that meets the requirements of ASTM C-564 housed inside a Type 301 stainless steel corrugated shield. Four (2 through 4 in size), six (5 through 15 in size) Type 301 stainless steel clamps tightened with 3/8 in Type 305 stainless steel hex head screws surround the shield to provide the sealing force. MI-XHUB Series Couplings are tested and certified to the ASTM-C1540-2011, FM1680-1989 and CSA B602-2016 Standards and are listed with IAPMO. Also tested and certified by Intertek Testing Services to CAN/ULC S102.2-10 Smoke Test.

- Mechanical interlocking clamp design - A one piece stainless steel screw housing mechanically interlocks the housing to the stainless steel band
- This one piece housing eliminates leak paths that can develop with welded or staked clamps
- Floating eyelet design - The stainless steel clamp bands can move independently from the corrugated stainless steel shield
- This independence prevents the shield from crimping during tightening which can lead to leaks
- 3/8 in Hex head screw - The stainless steel 3/8 in hex head screw is engineered to accept 80 in pounds of installation torque to ensure a secure band/shield assembly around the pipe/fittings
- Formed gasket design - The gasket is designed to form fit around the pipe and the inside of the shield so that when the clamping forces are applied, a superior sealing pressure and holding power is achieved
