The SMACNA Testing and Research Institute verified Boot Gripper from Griplock Systems is an acceptable alternative to the duct hanger systems prescribed in the SMACNA HVAC Duct Construction Standards (HVAC-DCS), 4th edition, Chapter 5, Tables 5-1, 5-1M and 5-2. The boot gripper comes in two sizes to be used with galvanized cable with diameters from 3/32” – 1/8”, providing working load limits ranging from 100 pounds up to 200 pounds. The boot gripper hanging system is easier and faster to install than traditional HVAC hangers and straps, saving time and labor costs. It is designed to be screwed directly into rectangular duct for secure support and allow the installer to make tool-free height adjustments and level ductwork quickly. The galvanized cable can be purchased in bulk spools or cut to length and supplied with a variety of end fittings to secure to structure.
