Lancaster’s Diamond Line Tannin Guard not only softens hard water but removes Tannins and up to 1 ppm of ferrous (clean water) iron.
Tannin Guard’s backwash rates are a fraction of the requirement on ordinary iron filters, which allows usage on relatively poor-producing wells. Also, this system is not sensitive to pH and can operate in acidic water, which is not recommended with ordinary iron filters.
Tannins are naturally occurring organic material, byproducts of fermentation that cause water to have anywhere from a faint yellow to tea-like color, causing staining.
